DECOMPRESS presents Vanguards
We launched Decompress on Juneteenth with trailblazing voices in electronic music, such as Kenny Larkin, house music legend DJ Heather, Greg “Stryke” Chin, Godfather of the Miami electronic music scene, and Paperwater, pioneers of a new sound that has reached the globe and put Miami back on the map.
Saturday, August 12, DECOMPRESS presents Vanguards, a lineup of Black Femme DJs, producers, and multi-disciplinary artists that reflect the vanguard of techno, house, ghetto tech, and bass, while also fusing emerging genres like drill and hyperpop.
The lineup features Co-Curator DJ Cutterfly fka Cowboykiller 2001 (Philly) and heavy hitters Le Camille (NYC), low iron (Philly), and Rashpotatoe (Miami). We will be hosting a special roundtable discussion and reception with the artists before the event from 7:30-8:30; please come early.

We are thrilled to feature artists and performers Ezili Jean, Speaker Music (DeForrest Brown), Suzi Analogue, and idealblackgirl (Amanda Williams). From my desk, as the Founder of a movement that has found its purpose during the storm and its focus in the whirlwind, we are not celebrating the end of one crisis and the beginning of another manufactured one, but our resilience and persistence. And we are strapping in for the long haul.
